Is It Worth Repairing a Broken Commercial Induction Cooker?

Is repair worth it? For moderate faults, yes. Induction units mainly have a glass panel, electronic control board, and induction coil.

Panels are hard material and mainboards rarely fail. Common faults are rectifier diodes or bridge rectifiers—cheap parts; buy by the old part number.

Coils of copper wire seldom fail or burn open even after years of use.

Power transistors that short/open (meter shows all pins open or shorted) cost roughly CNY 10–20 to replace and often blow the fuse.

Note: After replacing a failed IGBT, do not power on immediately or you may enlarge the fault. Replace drive transistors with the IGBT and rectifier bridge; cheap transistors protect expensive IGBTs. Also check related capacitors (e.g. 0.27/0.3/5 µF).

A blown fuse is cheap to replace after clearing downstream shorts (infinite resistance or blackened tube).

Control boards mainly fail at microswitches rather than ICs or resistors—sticky keys are often fixed by switch replacement.

Most faults are repairable and units remain worth keeping. Important: contact the manufacturer for service—do not attempt DIY repairs.
