Why a Commercial Induction Cooker May Not Work

Commercial induction cookers outpower home units with more stable performance in hotels, hospitals, schools, factories, and military kitchens. Why might one stop working? CHINENG explains.

Common causes

1. Dead on power-up: blank display and no start—check transformer ribbon/plugs after isolating power; if unchanged, the transformer may be bad.

2. Display OK but knob does nothing: check potentiometer/encoder rotation, wiring, and plugs; reseat connectors; replace the switch if needed. Potentiometer faults may beep continuously.

3. Runs then front breaker trips, restart works: usually undersized breaker—replace with adequate current rating.

4. Trips immediately: lift earth temporarily to test; if it then runs, find leakage (coil insulation, fan, or switch) by removing parts one by one—restore earth after repair.

5. Fans stop: if one still spins, control is OK—check that fan’s connectors; if all stop, control may be bad.

6. Garbled digits, missing segments, silent buzzer, varying boot display: suspect MCU, crystal, or nearby filter capacitors.

7. Power-on trip: confirm whether the unit or a poor customer breaker is at fault.
