Common Commercial Induction Faults and Fixes

Dining out is booming, and commercial induction helps high-volume kitchens. Faults still happen. CHINENG shares common problems and repair approaches.

Common faults

1. No heat: lamp on but alarm/no heat or intermittent heat on aged units often means a failed micro switch confusing the CPU.

Fix: replace the micro switch.

2. Cannot adjust power

Fix: shorted heat/temp resistors can disable the power button—replace the bad parts. Damaged main ICs from long high-heat duty also block power control—replace the IC.

3. Will not start (power key, no light)

(1) Bad keypad—replace keypad board;

(2) Loose power wiring—reconnect;

(3) Dead cord—reconnect or replace;

(4) Blown fuse—replace fuse;

(5) Bad transformer (no 18 V)—replace;

(6) Bad main board assembly—replace.

4. Totally dead: no response and fuse intact often points to a failed power chip.

Fix: 18 V from the chip through a 7805 becomes +5 V for the CPU—test/replace the chip if voltage is missing.

5. Unstable voltage: trips and stops.

Fix: correct transformer ratio/taps, cut line impedance, raise power factor, auto-switch reactive compensation, and use on-load tap changers as needed.
